Women+ in IC was founded in September 2022 by Laurane Marco as an answer to the lack of dedicated support strcuture and community-building events for women in the Computer Science faculty.
The goal of the association was to create events to connect with other women and under-represented communities in IC, as well as provide more exposure to their work and create opportunities.
The initiative was first hosted under the umbrella of the PhD association EPIC and separately funded by the EDIC doctoral program. Since September 2023, it has been an independent association with its own internal committee, still enjoying the generous funding of EDIC.
